Are you tired of annoying cookie pop-ups on every website? Do you wish targeted ads didn’t chase you across the web and onto social media?
Cookie Cutter by Neeva can help. By acting as your free personal privacy shield on the web, you will see significantly fewer cookie requests as you browse, and you can feel peace of mind that you aren’t being tracked against your wishes. Cookie Cutter provides all of the tracker blocking protection of our Search + Protect extension while also helping to suppress cookie consent pop-ups that you might see when visiting a website. You can get the extension for Chrome here and for Firefox here. We’ll update this article as the extension becomes available for other browsers.
The Cookie Cutter extension is completely free, does not require a Neeva account, and is available internationally.
Once you’ve added the extension to Chrome, you’ll be able to set your desired level of tracker blocking protection, as shown in the image below. You’ll also be able to select what types of non-essential cookies you’d like to accept or decline on all the websites you visit, and you can click here to learn more about the different types of cookies.
The available third-party tracking protection controls are Strict and Standard. The Strict setting means that most tracking technologies will be blocked, but it might cause some websites to break. The Standard setting shouldn’t cause any websites to malfunction, but it doesn’t block as many tracking technologies. The default setting is Strict, but you can change it as you see fit.
The Cookie Notice controls allow you to decline or accept non-essential cookies, which can include marketing, analytics, and social cookies. Choosing to accept non-essential cookies will give you options for further customization, but please note that if a website does not support declining the individual type of cookie, all non-essential cookies will be accepted if you choose the Accept non-essential cookies setting.
It’s important to know that essential cookies cannot be blocked by this extension. Essential cookies are used by websites to do things like remember your website preferences and your login information for ease of use.
