We have become resigned to the fact that tech companies track our every move. You wouldn’t agree to someone watching you in your living room, so why is your internet activity any different? Your home, the possessions you own and your data - the digital information you create - are your private property. Businesses need to respect your privacy, online and offline. This article will help you better understand your data and how Neeva helps keep your data private.

What if you get hacked? How does Neeva handle security and potential threats?
No one at Neeva is ever allowed to look at your data; it’s handled by automated systems. We have never looked at any user’s data, nor do we anticipate having to do so in the future. User privacy is at the core of our company’s culture and is at the heart of how we build our products.
What does "No Tracking" mean in the context of my Neeva searches?
When you search on Neeva, we do not share any information with any third parties for the sake of showing you advertisements on future websites you visit. Using the Neeva Extension, we prevent other websites like CNN.com from sending your information to dozens of third parties who use that information to create a data profile on you to show you personalized, targeted ads. We do use and store your search queries to make Neeva work better for you.
Does Neeva know my location?
Your IP address is sent by default when you search online. Neeva uses this IP address to infer where your internet connection is approximately located. Neeva doesn't know your exact location, but we try to provide local search results that are as accurate as possible. That's why updating your location with our "Change Location" tool is a great way to ensure that local search results are much better.
We never pass on your IP address or your exact location to any provider that we get results from (like weather or web search). If you'd like a feature in Neeva to completely turn off location results, just let us know by using the Support button or emailing us at support@neeva.co.
If I use a VPN, will Neeva know my location?
If you use a VPN, Neeva cannot infer your location from your IP address. In those cases, you can share your device location for more accurate local results.
What if you get hacked? How does Neeva handle security and potential threats?
Security is something we are constantly thinking about at Neeva. We've gone through exhaustive audits of our systems (including an audit by Bishop Fox, the largest private firm focused on security testing) and are continuing to invest in security. Neeva's infrastructure engineers have built some of the biggest and most complex systems in the world and are very serious about protecting the security of our data.
